There are plenty of easy, sustainable ways to get to the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink! Whether you’re coming from Seattle, Redmond, or nearby neighborhoods, you can reach the rink using light rail, bus, Bellhop, walking, or biking.


Hop on the 2 Line

The 2 Line from Bellevue to Redmond is a 6.5-mile segment of the East Link Extension that includes ten stations in Bellevue and Redmond.

2 Line trains will run every 10 minutes between South Bellevue and Downtown Redmond, with service running from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week.

To the Downtown Ice Rink:

  • Stop at: Bellevue Downtown Station

  • Parking: Free parking is available at Marymoor Village, Redmond Technology, BelRed, and South Bellevue. Secure bike parking is available at every station.

  • Fares: Standard adult fare is $3.00. King County Metro also offers several types of reduced fair transit cards. Youth ORCA Cards (free youth transit pass) is available for ages 6 - 18.

  • Distance: About 0.5 miles from the Ice Rink (roughly 12-minute walk)

  • Directions: Exit toward 112th Ave NE, turn right onto NE 4th St, and walk down NE 4th St to Bellevue Downtown Park.

  • Options: Request a Bellhop for a quick, free, all-electric shuttle ride to Downtown Park.

Pro tip: Traveling with skates? The 2 Line trains have open spaces for gear and strollers, making it easy to bring what you need for a fun day on the ice.

Ride the Bus

There are over 10 bus routes within 0.5 miles of the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink, connecting neighborhoods across the Eastside, Seattle, and beyond.

To the Downtown Ice Rink:

  • Common Routes: 240, 241, 249, 250, 271, 532, 535, 550, 556, 560, 566

  • Nearest Stops: Bellevue Way NE & Main St | NE 8th St & 100th Ave NE | Bellevue Way NE & NE 4th St | NE 4th St & 105th Ave NE

  • Service Advisories: Bus routes are subject to change due to road closures and congestion from Snowflake Lane (between Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square from NE 4th to NE 8th Street). Please check King County Service Advisories before traveling.

  • Bellevue Transit Center: The transit hub of Downtown Bellevue, consisting of 12 Bays with over 10 different bus routes. Just a 12-minnute walk to the Downtown Ice Rink!

Request a free Bellhop Shuttle

Avoid parking altogether with Bellhop, Bellevue’s free, all-electric, on-demand shuttle service. Bellhop is the perfect first- or last-mile solution, and it’s free!

To the Downtown Ice Rink:

  • Bellhop Service Area: Bellhop serves an extensive service area within a 6-mile perimeter, ensuring no hotspot is out of your reach. This includes the Bellevue Transit Center and the Bellevue Downtown Light Rail Station.

  • Bellhop General Hours:

    • Mon – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.

    • Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.

    • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

    • Sunday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

  • How It Works: Download the Circuit app, hail a ride, and a driver will confirm they’re on the way. Please expect wait times of at least 10 minutes, as drivers pick up and drop off other passengers on the way.


Walking & Biking

Bellevue has been designated a Silver Walk Friendly Community by Walk Friendly Communities, and received a walk score of 95, assigning Downtown Bellevue as a Walkers Paradise.

Walk to the Downtown Ice Rink:

  • Grand Connection Pedestrian Corridor: Enjoy a scenic pedestrian-friendly route from the Downtown Bellevue Station or the Light Rail Station straight to the Ice Rink! This 1.5-mile pathway begins at the waterfront of Lake Washington at Meydenbauer Bay Park, across Interstate 405 and ultimately connects with the regional Eastrail in the Wilburton commercial area.

Bike to the Downtown Ice Rink:

  • Check out the 2020 Bike Map [PDF], featuring updated citywide and detail maps, safety tips, helmet fitting tips, and updated tools and resources.

  • Bike Parking: Bike racks are available near the Downtown Bellevue Park entrance for easy parking. Additional bike parking is available throughout the city and within walking distance to the rink. Secure on-demand bike lockers are available at every station!

  • Multimodal Transportation: Bring your bike on the light rail and the bus! Every Sound Transit train includes dedicated spaces for bikes. All King County Metro and Sound Transit Express buses are equipped with front-mounted bike racks that can hold up to two bikes.
